MUSIC WITHOUT WORDS MEANS
LEAVING BEHIND THE MIND. AND LEAVING BEHIND THE MIND IS
MEDITATION. MEDITATION RETURNS YOU TO THE SOURCE. AND THE SOURCE
OF ALL IS SOUND.

MUSIC THERAPY
Healing entering through the ears
(from

)
Music, whichever style, revitalizes the human being and should
be a conscious part of our lives. We need to participate in it,
without limiting ourselves to only listening or using it to fill
up emptiness.
We have to learn from music with a completely new perspective,
as music contains all wonders, and is the key to life miracles.
Sound has always been considered a link between the Human and
the Divine. In one way or another, all ancient schools taught
its disciples to use sound as a creative force.
Music has been considered the most ancient form of healing in 2
ways: as form of art, and as a commercial product. This is not
enough; music has to be taken into consideration in a third
manner, as a universal force, which helps in the human psychic
healing as well as physical. The power of music acts due to a
secret content which is found in the expression of sound.
Music can be curative if it is understood in the following way:
sound is vibration and its movements produce heat which then
become energy. A physical deficiency, whatever it may be,
affects the cells and if the music therapy is used, we are in
conditions to take advantage of the energy produced by rhythms
and sounds, which transmitted to all ill cells, will achieve
recovery.
Usually, we are not conscious that the body
can heal himself. Unfortunately, we interfere in its path of
recovery by providing inadequate nourishment, making it work in
excess without giving any rest, exposing it to tension and
negativity. We bear emotions and behaviours which produce short
circuit in its energy flows, resulting in weakness and lack of
balance.
Sound and music are one of the most effective and simple form to
re-establish the lost balance. The Chakras and its
electromagnetic emanations respond to specific music tones and
vocals. The tones of our music scale resound with the seven
chakras. The tuning fork, is very effective for this, although
it is a very expensive instrument. We can also use a simple and
economic flute to reach this energy balance in a certain chakra,
or we can interpret or listen to a musical piece written in a
key which tone is the primary of the unbalanced chakra. We can
use the different tones and instrument to re-establish the
physical, emotional, mental or spiritual balance, but for that,
we have to understand and examine the metaphysical aspects of
each chakra and its answers to sound in any of its forms.
DEADLY RHYTHMS
The rhythmic dissonance is a deadly
danger for live beings. Unfortunately live organisms tend to
accommodate the function of its organs to exterior sound rhythm.
For example, it is known, that a fish needs a minimum of 43
breathing inspirations per minute for it not to die by
suffocation. If you leave, next to a fish, a rhythmic tic/tac of
40 beats per minute, the animal will synchronize its breathing
to the period of the noise. When the minutes finishes, the
breathing of the animal are 40 per minute without it being able
to increase it again. The fish will try to escape to a silent
place to save his life. If the instrument does not stop the fish
dies "suffocated by dissonance".
In relation to this, if our breathing and blood circulation obey
to a natural rhythm, in accordance and in harmony with the
cosmos and nature, all that breaks or does not agree to these
rules, will leads us to an abnormal or aggressive behaviour.
MUSIC ELEMENTS AS HEALING
We can use music rhythms, tones instruments and voice sound so
that they act mutually with the different activities of the
physiological systems of the body. To work with the music, in
the healing field, it is essential to understand the relation
existing between the Chakras system and the physic and subtle
aspects of our energies.
Chakras are the principal mediators of all existing energy in
the body and that which enter it. They absorb the energy and
help the body to distribute it to its distinct physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual functions. The tones, rhythms,
instruments and vocals which are used, serve to balance,
stimulate and establish a mutual relationship with the energy
flow of the Chakras.
MUSIC THERAPY APPLICATIONS
In the physical level, you can use it to
-
TO SOOTH PAIN
- TO LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE
. - MODERATE CHILDREN HIPERACTIVITY
In the metaphysical level, generally it is used to
-
TO INDUCE ALTERED CONSCIOUS STATES
-
TO REACH NEW LEVELS OF PERCEPTION
-.
TO STIMULATE INTUITION
-
INCREASE CREATIVITY

This article highlights the
responsibility which any composer artist or
disc-jockey, which plays in front of a public,
should have. In my opinion, given the influence of
music in our bodies and mental states, it is
fundamentally important to have a special conscience
at the time of choosing the music to transmit. Only
by respecting the laws of Nature and the Universe
one can acquire such conscience, and so positively
influence the evolution of humanity through this
channel.

WHAT
PSYTRANCE MEANS
(Extracts from the article of Carlos Velilla
"Trance, Nature et Life")
There are various wave patterns
that our brain can experiment:
Beta, the brain in on level 13 to 28Hz brain waves
Alpha, the brain is on level 7,5 to 13Hz brain waves
Theta, the brain is on level 3,5 to 7,5Hz brain waves
Delta, the brain is on level 0,2 to 3,5Hz brain waves
Normally an individual presents all of them, but always one
predominates over the rest. In Beta level, due to its fast
fluctuation, wakefulness is experienced, the natural state of
the person, where he find himself awake and alert; the study of
the extent and post-treatment of these waves allows the
improvement of the person's attention capacity. In the Alpha
level, states like relaxation, meditation, relief of
tension, search for pleasure and decision making occur. An
elevated state of consciousness. In Theta, the inspiration and
creativity state, uncertainty, intuition and lucid dreams. In
Delta, it is the deep dreams and Rem phase (Rapid Eye
Movement), deep hypnotic trance and paranormal events,
telepathy, regressions etc. Psychedelic Trance tends to evoke,
provoke and flourish on the individual that is listening to it
said Alpha state and creating sensations that go beyond reality.
But before let's go back in time:
Originally started in Goa, a Portuguese colony on the west coast
of India (Anjuna); in the mid 60s, where a bohemian population
settled in an attempt to emulate an hypothetical paradise in a
world each time more industrialized; Midnight parties dedicated
to the Moon and the Stars, surrounded by songs of Neil Young,
Bob Marley, the Doors, Pink Floyd and more; later was introduced
the magic of electronics and its infinite possibilities. With a
totally multinational mentality, there was a place for any
culture, Caribbean rhythms, Hindus sitar and European obscure
synthesizers where mixed in at pleasure. All sound which would
alter the consciousness of the listener was brought to Goa to be
shared, experimented and played. This way, from the sinister
influences of EBM, the dynamism of American techno, and these
same psychedelic sounds, the fascination for a music up to then
unknown was born.The official version
about the origins of psychedelic trance confirms that such
movement started in the region of Goa sometimes around the 90s;
once "the creature" was conceived, people like Goa Gil, Mark
Allen, Fred Disko, Steve Psyko, Ray Castle and Dino Psaras (and
many others) spread the message around the world. There are
various names of this "creature": Originally "Trance Dance",
officially accepted "Goa Trance", "Psychedelic Trance" or
"PsyTrance". Others call it "drug becoming sound". To avoid
confusion we'll call it "Psychedelic Trance".
Let's analyze its significance, the reasons for
its name. Psychedelic=Psyche (mind)+ Deloun (related to
sensory), something which manifests the mind, the spirit or the
soul; or better still the modification of the consciousness.
Trance= suspended state of the senses during a mystical ecstasy
experience or due to hypnotism effects, higher state of consciousness.
Already since the 10th century, African
societies conceived music as a means of transmission of
knowledge and its values, they understood sound as a mean to
establish the order of the Universe, they used percussionists as
an essential part for its community trance rituals. In the
region of Tibet, India, Centre and South America as well, they
have similar philosophy of music worship in its esoteric and
divine applications. (coincidence?) Curiously these where areas,
where intelligent life started before than in other places, and
where still there are many unresolved enigmas. (Atlantis,
Lemuria, the Nazca's tracks, Keops pyramids, the great South
rock of Baalbeck etc.) Furthermore it is evident the connexion
between these civilizations. Is Psychedelic Trance a way of
getting closer to God? Psychedelic Trance makes me think of the
Divine or at least the supernatural:" Waiting for a new
life to come, If I could discover just one of these things, what
eternity is for example, I would not care if they did think I
was crazy" "Paradise is not a place, is a form of cultures for
the following state in human evolution any date in a day in a
system. This day in a system contains all the information
necessary for transformation of living structures in past,
present, and future forces. Today the collective cultures has
reached a special point of transformation, being able to receive
and to greaten the great cosmic law, never changing and forever
true in the name of the land; dance for paradise" These are
quotations from known songs. Is Psychedelic Trance something
like a vortex, a temporal - space entrance to other dimensions?
Has Psytrance really been invented where I recounted? Or is it a
reminiscence of past times? Someone confirms that in Roman
times, teenagers where listening to repetitive type of music
(Coincidence?) The world invariably converges the use of
ringlets in music. Another proof that history is cyclical.
Sometimes ago I've read that in the interior of some Egyptian
Pyramids, historians and researchers have found represented on
the walls, schematic which appeared very much like men with
helmets similar to the ones used by pilots, as well as something
like helicopters and light bulbs. Will we discover one day in
the hieroglyphics, Spirit desks or Korg synthesizers?
In Psytrance, not only is important the quality
of sound, but also the place to do the event. The philosophy of
this style is radically different from the rest. It was not
designed for its application in closed and dark places, all the
contrary; open spaces are looked for, Chakras (energy centres:
forests, beaches deserts etc) Attempts are made to integrate the
ancestral and spiritual with technology.
Psytrance is therefore an elevation of the
individual's spirituality. "Always music and dance have been
used to unite with the Spirit of Nature and with that of the
Universe. The keywords are love, compassion, understanding and
respect for others". It is not rare that certain people have
abandoned their previous way of life. "My life have changed
completely, I stopped working and belonging to a Company, Goa is
something more than a couple of happy days" (Tsuyoshi Suzuki),
"I've realised that gaining large amounts of money was not what
I wanted to do with my life, I did not want a timetable from 9
to 5, I want to travel, know people, live, not dream, live."
(Mark Allen) "I opened myself to religion, I saw how happy I
could be without the necessity of materialism" (James Munro)
"Seeing a moon eclipse in November of 1992 was the most
wonderful experience of my whole existence, I saved all the
money for a motorbike and travelled around Australia with it"
(Sarah Champion) Some of these ideas could be perceived radical,
but they give an idea what Psytrance can do; if they are happy
there is no need to say more.
Effects it produces: to the trance state one can
arrive through hypnotism, drugs, intense exercise (DANCING) and
of course through sound. Due to my total and absolute ignorance
on the subject of drugs, I just want to say that in 1938 Albert
Hoffman discovered the Lysergic Acid (Lyserg Saure
Diethylamid;LSD) when he was studying the alkaloids of a
parasite fungus in rye. The most common effect of the
consumption of LSD is the deep and transcendental state, a
superior sphere of knowledge, mystical-intellectual experience,
a vehicle of liberation for the individual against the voracity
of the system. So well, I believe that Psychedelic Trance is a
mean which creates consciousness, fills the mind with images and
fills the soul with joy; it is an approximate portrait (I
believe) of what could be an experience with LSD, even if it is
only due to the fact that the body when in a state of trance
produces endorphins, an opium substance.
Going deeply in the concept of sound in itself,
the low frequencies affect directly the nervous inferior organs,
sexual and stomach; the mediums affect the thorax and the heart
(according to the speed of the music, our body will manipulate
the necessary adrenalin); the high tones affect the mind, and
finally the rest that is added, melodies, voices etc., implement
an emotional effect on us.
Then it is possible to manipulate the will of
the people with the power of sound (like the comics "Cachabolik
Blues Rock of Super Lopez); even Nazis in II World War studied
the use of sound weapons to dismantle steel and concrete made
structures. It is known that trance is induced through the use
of repetitive elements known in advanced (doing sports, watch
television etc.) and in our case there is a theory that
PsyTrance boosts such effect thanks to the use of multiple
rhythms of percussion. Other experiences which occur in an
altered state of consciousness is the AMP (Accelerated Mental
Process) where the mind experiments a much higher volume of
images than normal, as if we were to rise the pitch of our
neuronal Technics.
Another important point to discuss is DANCE;
a concept previous to mankind (the death dance of sharks, the
launching of the prey from the male hawk to the female, the
snakes mating etc. ) Dancing regularly means physical and mental
health, if furthermore we find ourselves in a trance state, we
connect with the sound and spirit. The ancient shamans of the
tribes, used to dance to enter themselves into a trance state or
to lead others into it. The dancer not only leads himself, but
he always help others, because with his exercise and
concentration, he "transfers" energy to the rest; we can say
that dancers (ourselves) are like modern shamans, we are a part
of collective consciousness experience. Goa Gil quotes:" An
experience that was not precisely a discotheque under coconuts;
it was releasing soft vibes during all night and very slowly
intensify it as the sunrise was getting closer, arriving at
apocalyptic colours; everybody feeling the same sensations at
the same time; it is wonderful, something like a collective
orgasm".
After all these lectures we can arrive at the
conclusion that any repetitive music is trance activating, of
course that Minimal Techno and Progressive House produce
hypnotic effects as well, but these are limited more towards the
physical and mental aspect; Psychedelic Trance arrives where
these cannot (the Spiritual). Some say that trance is a happy
state at which you arrive extinguishing the Ego (the image
we have of ourselves); Trance=Nirvana? Again I ask myself is
Psytrance a way of getting closer to God? Or you only see what
you want?
Final assessment: I believe (a totally
personal opinion and without the intention to disrespect anyone)
that people who like Techno, essentially look for an innovation
of sound; before anything they are vanguards persons; they are
keen on technology, progress and evolution; they are our sons of
today for tomorrow. On the other hand, people that like
Psychedelic Trance try to look for something more...; I am not
talking about material things, power or position, but
acknowledging life more deeply inside and outside this world; on
the present, past and future (and beyond that); about
reincarnation; what is there after death, if there is anything
(and how it will sound). They are the children of the Earth.
