Poetry
The human being is like a
guest house
Every morning a new arrival
A joy, a depression, a meanness
Some momentary awareness
comes an unexpected visitor
Welcome and entertain them all
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows
Who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture
Still treat each guest honourably
He may be clearing you out for some new delight
The dark thought, the shame, the malice
Meet them at the door, laughing, and invite them in
Be grateful for whoever comes
For each has been sent as a guide from beyond

Simba's poems:
A Guide to Evolution
"May the spirit of your soul guide you through the mysteries
that life brings.
Whatever happens in your life is there to let you understand who
you really are.
It teaches you, by following the intuition of your heart, how
you can arrive one day at the Land of Freedom.
Trust in the forces of Mother Nature and Father Sky, they are
our creators.
Have faith in the power of the unknown, it guides us in this
path of evolution.
Gather the strength to break the chains of illusion that
surrounds you and recognize the real truth at all times.
Through peace and love you will never be lost or alone,
no matter what changes in this world you will be forced to face.
Open your mind to love and understanding
expand your conscience
be responsible for your every action and thoughts
for this is how you affect the rest of humanity
only by feeling true love, peace and freedom today
we can hope for a better tomorrow.
Afrika
In a long faraway past
you were the last paradise of this civilized world.
The beauty of your land,
the innocence of your people,
was an unknown treasure to be loved and cared for
The mystery of your life, your past
the violence of your traditions
was your only defence.
How strange we must have looked
how fearless we must have been
to your innocent eyes
we thought we were superior
we called ourselves civilized
we were going to be your new parents
we were going to force you to grow
under our own rules
But how could you tell us that you did not need
a mother and father
you had no right to speak
How could you make us see
that you already had your own personality
we were blinded by our mythical pride
So, here you are now
My grown up child
I see a lonely tear running down your face
like a little drop of rain
gently caressing a petal of a rose
But your land is dry and you see no roses
Your people is lost and you see no happiness
You've been betrayed and your innocence is lost
anger and hate have taken place
where once there was love and trust
You have the right to blame us
but what can we do
when our great strength has been crashed
by our own rules
We are all inhabitants of this earth
We are all children of Mother Nature
Let us forget the past and start again
Like brothers and sisters
Why waste our little energy
fighting against each other
when we can unite our forces, and build a new world,
a better future for all our children of tomorrow.
King of Nature
So here you are my friend
Watching over the hill,
at the magic of this precious view
A slight breeze caresses your blond mane
Your young, powerful and beautiful
And you are ready to hunt.
But where is your prey?
You were once the emperor of Africa
But where is your land now?
Who took your pride, king of nature?
You've been forced to live within boundaries
by powers unknown
Once you could run wild and smell the sense of Freedom
Now, there is danger all around you
And the sour taste of blood
from brothers who have crossed the line hunts you
You were the hunter and you knew no fear
But now, you are the prey and there is
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
So, one day, when your hunger
will be too strong to bare
You too will be offered the chance to die
I'll hear your cry at night
and I'll know that the last diamond
of this immense treasure
has ceased to Shine.
Friendship
Like the wind when clearing the sky from clouds
You clear my mind from fears.
In the uncertainty of the future you are the security of my
thoughts.
My friend, life is a difficult path to follow
a constant battle
Against the mysteries of destiny.
Against the anxieties of our hearts
But like the constant presence of the Moon
and the Sun in the evolution of the Earth
Pure friendship is the vital energy of our souls
the one that forces us to continue.
And you, my friend, have been the constant light of this path.
Don't abandon me in the darkness of life
I would lose the aim of my destiny
